Hours: On-Site, 20 hrs per week (work week is Monday-Friday)

 

Compensation: $20+/hr

Position Summary

POSITION OVERVIEW

This is a paid, onsite interior design internship for our Seattle Workspace.  The Design Intern role isdesigned to provide a well-rounded educational experience with direct contact with Porter team members, clients, and partners.  Design Intern should have a keen aesthetic eye for interiors, product design, and graphic composition. Role will support senior designer creative production needs but also work independently on tasks without oversight.  Should possess a passion for hospitality, products, and décor.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Material Library maintenance, including refile and managing sample orders
  • Package receipt and supplies inventory management
  • Product Research
  • Showroom Floor support including arranging and labelling product
  • Assist with Selecting Products and Finishes
  • Manage Individual tasks and duties, work independently (without oversight)
  • Awareness of Interior Design Principles and Practices 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Keen Aesthetic Eye for Interior Design, Product Design, + Graphic Compositions
  • Passion for furniture, stylizing and decor
  • Highly Organized and Detail Oriented
  • Ability to communicate clearly, aptitude for presenting design concepts

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Student or recent graduate pursuing an Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Interior or Architectural Design. Equivalent industry experience will be considered.
